Located in the
central part of city of Hamedan.
In 1928, a German city
planner designed the central part of the city, which consists of a large
central roundabout with six avenues running into it. Hamedan is at
the foothill of Alvand mountain.
Hamedan is built in
the same location as once ancient Ecbatana stood. Ecbatana was the
Medes' capital before they formed a union with Persians. The first
signs of civilization in Hamedan region dates as far back as 3000 B.C.
